I came in the USA when I was almost 21yrs old, I came in as an Au pair (international nanny). I was to stay with a family for a year and then go back home. I had just finished my Law degree and I wanted to see the world. The programme provided a lot of promise. Living with an American family, studying, meeting new friends and travelling and exploring. The only thing you had to do in exchange was to "help out" by doing "some babysitting."
The pay well a measly $140 a week, but who cares if you are getting all the other priviliges rite, yeah, okay!
Tempting right?? Oh well let me just say that it didn't really turn out so rossy.
But I'm not going to go into that right now. We are still getting to know each other. Here's how it ended up for me, I quit 4months into the programme and I jumped right into becoming a nanny.
I started getting paid $400 a week, aaahhh, what an envy I became to other Au pairs! I had a luxury car that I could drive anywhere that I wanted, and I was just taking care of one kid who spent most of the day in school anyways.
I travelled to China, stayed at the Beijing hotel, been on the Great Wall of China. Seen the Eiffel Tower, enjoyed the great flavors of Sicily.
My dilema, however, was always been the fact that I couldn't tell my date exactly what it is that I do for a living. I've had one failed relationship after another, couldn't explain the luxury cars that I drive or the huge mansions that I've lived in or the beach housed in Martha's Vineyards that I've had unlimited access to.
